Duck Decorating Challenge
Show off your feathers!! Create a duck or ducks that reflects your personal style, supports your favorite team, denotes your profession, resembles a character of your favorite movie or show—Be creative! The sky is the limit…well, technically you are limited to 20L” X 20W” X 16H” but you can use paint, glue, feather, sew, bedazzle, duck tape, lol! Make your bird stand out from the flock because there is a prize and bragging rights involved!
A few tips and items that have been used successfully:
- Paint, Spray Paint, Paint Tape, Duct Tape, Markers, Nail Polish
- Mod Podge using foam brush to attach and for coat afterward
- Glitter, Rhinestones, Brads, Tiny Beads, Paper, Fabric, Pom Poms
- Epoxy Resin, Super Glue, box cutter, Use Elmers Glue Guide to see what glue you need
A “Decorate Me” Duck is a big 10 inch rubber duck that you decorate prior to the Ducktona Dash Event & Festival on June, 4th, 2016. Each duck is $50 and proceeds benefit Cabarrus Meals on Wheels. This work of art goes on display to be judged by a panel of Duck Experts. On Saturday, June 4th, 2016, bring your decorated duck to the Duck Display area at the Ducktona Dash Festival at Frank Liske Park by NO LATER than 9:30am and register your duck for the contest. All ducks must be family friendly. Judging and awards will be done the day of the event and announced at approximately 1:15pm. There will be a Grand Prize and trophy for Overall Best Decorated Duck. The Grand Prize winner will receive a Community To-Go meal for 12 from Jim ’N Nick’s Bar-B-Q. Each Category winner will receive a trophy: Businesses/Organizations, Schools, Families /Individuals. There will also be a Grand Prize and trophy for People’s Choice. The Grand Prize winner will receive a Free Studio Session of 20 images on a CD with print rights from Amy Douglas Photography (Value $180+).
