Cabarrus Meals on Wheels provides a great opportunity for people to volunteer and make a difference in the life of a senior. Volunteers work with staff to ensure that homebound seniors and disabled adults receive the nutrition they need and a link to the outside world.
Many times, the delivery volunteer is the only person our clients see that day. Daily contact with a Cabarrus Meals on Wheels volunteer provides the client an opportunity for friendship and social interaction and serves as a safety check on their well-being, thus allowing them to continue living independently in their own homes, which is where they want to be.
Please review our “How to Get Started” page to learn how to become a volunteer. For more information email our Volunteer Coordinator or give us a call at 704-932-3412. Existing volunteers can check out our available routes and sign up to deliver on our Meal Scheduler.
How You Can Help
One of the greatest gifts is your Time
Deliver Meals
We supply the meals and depend on loyal volunteers to be our wheels! Volunteers deliver all through Cabarrus County, which covers Concord, Harrisburg, Kannapolis, Midland, and Mt. Pleasant. All routes are picked up at our office at 342 Penny Lane NE, Concord. All meals are prepared fresh daily at our central kitchen.
Business, churches or individuals can adopt-a-route. This means a chosen day each week or even the entire route is made their route to cover for delivery. Commonly, one person is made the chairperson of that route and works with their organization to make sure all committed route days are covered for delivery.
We are looking for volunteer drivers to service older adults, adults with disabilities and veterans in our community. Neighbors helping Neighbors. Let’s work together.
Help with Special Events
We have many events throughout the year that we always need help with. This is a great way to help annually without the commitment of a scheduled volunteer day.
